Odfjell Drilling, a 53-year-old offshore drilling company, has won a contract extension with Norwegian oil and gas company Aker BP for a semi-submersible platform built in 2019, which operates on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
Odfjell Drilling has received signed confirmation from Aker BP for the extension of the work period Deep Sea North Cape The drilling company’s contract period is one year. The unit was previously called Stena Midmax.
As a result, the contract backlog for the semi-submersible has been extended until the end of 2028, after which the Norwegian operator reserves further options.
The run rate applicable to the extension will be determined by the end of 2026, using a rate that reflects market prices and is determined by two independent drilling brokers.
