Norwegian oil and gas companies Equinor and Aker BP have both received drilling permits for operations in the North Sea on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS), which will be conducted using semi-submersible platforms owned by COSL Drilling Europe and Saipem.

The Norwegian Maritime Directorate granted Equinor a drilling permit for the 16/4-14 inch wellbore Production license 1174 Swhich is valid from February 17, 2023 until the same date in 2030.
Equinor is the license operator with an 80% stake, while its partner Petoro holds the remaining 20% stake. Drilling activities will be carried out in collaboration with COSL Drilling Europe’s COSL Innovator Semi-submersible platform.
