Vizsla Copper drills 304.8 meters of 0.48% CuEq at BC project – Resource World Magazine


Vizla Copper Company (Fazla-TSX, VCUFF-OTCQB, 97E0-Frankfurt) announced the remaining drill results from the recently completed Spring 2026 Phase 1.0 drilling program at the Thira porphyry discovery at its Poplar project, located in central British Columbia.

Drilling highlights include hole TH26-154, which tested the northern extent of porphyry-associated copper-molybdenum mineralization that intersected in discovery hole TH25-138.

427 meters of 0.40% copper equivalent (CuEq) (0.26% copper, 0.17% molybdenum, 0.87 g/t silver, and 0.04 g/t gold above 0.10 copper cut-off grade) from a 13.2-metre-deep hole, including:

304.8 meters of 0.48% copper equivalent (0.29% copper, 0.022% molybdenum, 1.02 g/t silver, and 0.05 g/t gold above the 0.20 copper cut-off grade) from 13.2 meters downhole, including

45.0 meters of 0.58% copper equivalent (0.42% copper, 0.012% molybdenum, 1.29 g/t gold, and 0.096 g/t gold, above the 0.30% copper cutoff) from a depth of 48.0 meters downhole.

All of Thera Discovery’s drill holes intersect zones of copper and molybdenum mineralization associated with the porphyry and together define a footprint of approximately 800 meters by 900 metres. Follow-on Phase 2.0 of drilling at Thera will target extensions of mineralization across interpreted fault zones.

Seven holes evaluated the Camp Lake target and identified an 800-metre-by-400-metre-wide area of ​​copper-molybdenum mineralization associated with porphyry, the company said. Follow-on Phase 2.0 will target higher grade mineralization in the south.

Meanwhile, Vizla said four drill holes evaluated the copper pond target and created a vertically oriented zone of copper, molybdenum and silver mineralization that intersected 177.3 meters of 0.31% CuEq (0.17% copper, $0.012 molybdenum, 2.32 g/t silver and 0.07 g/t gold) in drill hole TH26-163. The follow-on Phase 2.0 drilling at Copper Pond will target potential high-grade extensions to the east.

The company said in its latest update that Phase 2.0 of drilling is scheduled to begin within the company’s weeks. It will consist of up to 8,000 meters of drilling with two drilling rigs focused on evaluating the Thera Discovery, Camp Lake and Copper Pond target ranges. The program is expected to begin in late July.

“As we prepare to launch our next fully-funded, two-rig drilling program, we look forward to continuing to build on the momentum of this discovery with a total of nearly 20,000 meters of drilling at the project this year,” said Craig Barry, CEO and CEO of Vizsla Copper.

Vizsla Copper shares fell 3.51%, or $0.04, to $1.10. Shares are trading in a 52-week range of $2.68 to $0.075.

The 44,200-hectare Poplar Project covers arc-related Mesozoic volcanic, sedimentary and intrusive rocks that are considered likely to have been mined for copper and gold associated with porphyry. The company has focused on the Thera target, which is centered approximately 10 kilometers south of the porphyry-associated copper and gold deposits (historic mineral resources of 152.3 million tonnes grading 0.32% copper, 0.09 g/t gold, and 139.3 million tonnes grading 0.29% copper, 0.07 g/t gold).

Vizsla Copper has the option to acquire a 100% interest in the Poplar project through a series of expenditure commitments and annual cash payments through 2027.
