Upon request from Westcon Helgeland – Konecranes, a Finnish lifting services company, will supply two heavy double girder cranes to a new facility in Norway.

Westcon Helgeland, which operates ship repair, rig maintenance and equipment manufacturing for the oil industry, placed its order in the first quarter of this year, with delivery expected in October 2026.

“We have worked with Konecranes on previous crane deliveries, and their understanding of our operational requirements was important for this project,” said Arnt Skogsoe, CEO of Westcon Helgeland. “For our new facility, we needed a solution capable of handling heavy and complex components efficiently, and Konecranes was able to meet these requirements.”

Each crane is equipped with a main crane with a capacity of 2 x 80 tons, and an auxiliary crane with a capacity of 10 tons operating at a span of 37.5 meters with a hook height of 17.4 metres.

According to Asle Johansen, chief technology officer of industrial equipment sales at Konecranes, Westcon Helgeland’s repeat customers were an encouraging sign for the company. “Seeing a customer putting their trust in Konecranes again reflects our ability to provide reliable solutions for difficult lifting applications,” Johansen said.
