The Management Association (MRA) is preparing to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to class members as part of a class-action settlement over data breaches.
The Human Resources Department approved the settlement to resolve claims from violations discovered in July 2023 and January 2024, Reports ClassAction.org.
The lawsuit was launched because the association failed to adequately protect personal information from unauthorized access.
The plaintiff, Susan Giasson, accused the company of inadequate security measures that led to the potential disclosure of sensitive data, including full names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, credit and/or debit card numbers, medical history, health benefits, registration information, financial account numbers with passwords or routing numbers, and tax identification numbers.
According to the lawsuit, these lapses caused harm to individuals whose information was compromised in these incidents. Court documents show 36,434 people are members of the class action.
Eligible individuals can receive funds via checks or electronic payments on a pro-rata basis. Chapter members can update their addresses or choose to get paid via PayPal, Venmo, or Zelle using this outlet On or before October 7, 2026.
The settlement addresses multiple breach incidents reported over the course of several months.
Details for submitting and distributing claims are available through the Initial Settlement Resources Updated In July 2026.
The MRA denies any wrongdoing but agreed to pay to end the lawsuit. The final approval hearing is scheduled for August 21, 2026.
