Yinson Production and PTSC’s FSO are headed to an oil project in Southeast Asia


A floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit has left the shipyard where it was under construction and sailed toward an oil field off the coast of Vietnam in Southeast Asia.

Singapore based builder OceanSTAR Elite Collection A provider of engineering solutions for oil and gas Promotion Sailing away has been confirmed FSO PTSC Lak Da Vang (FSO PTSC LDV) from Tongzhou Bay, Nantong, Jiangsu, for its journey to designated Lac Da Fang Project In Area 15-1/05 off the coast of Vietnam, under the Customer’s transportation arrangements, PetroVietnam Technical Services Company (PTSC).

The contract for the provision, lease, operation and maintenance of the FSO was awarded to PTSC Asia Pacifica joint project between Anise production and BTSC, In December 2024. The FSO’s departure comes a month after Yinson Production celebrated the naming of the unit on June 23, 2026.

After construction He started In February 2025, the project team achieved a series of key milestones during a 16-month implementation period, including the first steel cutting, keel placement, hull construction, major lifting operations, vessel launch, system commissioning and delivery preparation.

The 16-month delivery period demonstrated the strong execution capabilities of the project team in the areas of engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and overall project management.

From the first steel cut to dockside delivery, the FSO PTSC LDV completed its journey from plan to reality in just 16 months.”

Murphy Oil is the operator of Block 15-1/05 in the Cuu Long Basin with a 40% operating interest, while its partners PetroVietnam Exploration Production and SK Earthon hold the remaining 35% and 25%, respectively. The FSO features a storage capacity of 460,000 barrels and is designed to enhance operational efficiency while supporting sustainable offshore oilfield operations.

The Lac Da Vang field has an estimated final recovery of 100 million barrels of total oil equivalent resources, with gross peak production of 30-40 million barrels per day and net peak production of 10-15 million barrels per day.
