Norway-based Eureka Oil Industry, a pumping and power solutions provider for the offshore energy industries that is part of the Techouse Group, has been appointed by Singapore-based Yinson Production, a subsidiary of Kuala Lumpur-based energy infrastructure and technology company Yinson, to supply a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) backup power generator set deployed in Nigerian waters.

This contract is with Yinson Production for FPSO Abigail JosephEureka’s standby power unit will see the engineering, manufacture and delivery of a ready-to-use generator set as the primary standby power source on board the FPSO, which is deployed in Anyala and Madhu fieldsIt is located off the coast of Nigeria.
The company will manage the engineering and procurement work from its headquarters in Fornebo outside Oslo, Norway and its office in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Norwegian company’s facility in Sørumsand, north of Oslo, will manage the manufacturing and assembly of the containerized generator set.

The specially designed generator set includes an optimized design to meet the needs of high-speed engines. The Eureka service team in Norway will manage the commissioning and start-up and provide operational support when the equipment is installed on board the FPSO. The company did not disclose the value of the contract.

The vessel is owned by Yinson Production and is currently chartered to First E&P Marine in Nigeria.
